55 - i wave you goodbye

every friday, compose a short story of 55 words - no more, no less. if you want to join in the fun and games and give it a try...post your story and report to the boss G-Man!

with a tear in my eye
in my soul a sigh
i hold you close
shutting out my sorrows
as i watch you go
with your bags in tow
for some time away
while i will stay
counting the hours
‘til the time’s again ours

…with a tear in my eye
i wave you goodbye

My blog isn't private. I've been doing Fiction in 58, my own creation, long before Fiction in 55. I like to write short and tense.

Ahhh, sorry. That's where I have been testing HTML coding. I should just end it. Can't seem to find a template I truly like. Your poetry is very captivating. I also am overseer of a writing prompt called Three Word Wednesday. You should check it out. I think you'd like it.

Parting is such sweet sorrow,
which lasts 'til we meet on the morrow.

With apologies to whoever it was that said "Parting is such sweet sorrow." Willy, I think.

This is fabulous! And completely hits home for me, because my hubby just left on a trip. Beautifully done.

I may try to write one of these today.

“So hold her closer when she cries, hold her closer when she feels. She needs a hand to hold, someone who will never let her go again. And hold him closer when he tries to hold the tears back from his eyes. Don't say goodbye.” ~Song: Hold Her Closer

Lovely Shadow... Hope your weekend goes well :)
