existence without a timepiece

You find lasting peace
under black velvet skies
when the day sighs a breath of release,
and a fading trail
marks your unbound ascent
to existence without a timepiece.

  3. Beautifully written. Shadow, I must ask....just how long does it take you to come up with perfection like this? Do you just sit down and the keyboard and it comes to you naturally and quickly? Or, does it take you hours/days to work on your prose?

Any case, you KNOW I LOVE what you write.

  11. THIS is near-perfect blog-bliss:

To be capable of reading, understanding, and loving a blog post, all within a single ventilatory cycle.

Ventilatory, not a poetic word, but isn't it pretty? I knew it, but had to look it up anyway to make certain

Shadow, After convention I met two Peeps from Johannesburg. I should write you rather than comment this.....

Also NOTE: The MOST beautifully designed and colored flag IMO, was
South Africa! Outstanding...at the convention opening ceremony!

Thank you for your TOO kind comment. It is good to know you.

  16. Really just awesome, Shadow!

I'm working on my poetry right now, too, and I always making my poems into long stories...maybe this is my style in poetry?

    My voice in poetry?

Still working on it though! Your piece is a fine example of what I want my poetry to become. Short, sweet, and to the point! But of course, in my own style. :D

    Write on!

  22. I don't have an iphone or a crackberry or even a cell phone. But I can't move without my wristwatch. Sorry, I just HAVE to know the time.

  23. Beautiful... now if only we could let go like this in the figurative sense while remaining on this mundane plane. One day, perhaps.

  24. This one has to be one of my all time favorites that you've written. I love it. It takes me to a wonderful place.

  25. My neice sent me an imagined dialogue between a newly deceased man and a fatherly image of god recently. The questions asked by the man to the image were answered in such a way as to repeatedly make note that the man himself was the universe and that everyone he remembered, as he remembered, were but multiples of himself. Time is too short for those who wish....but for those who love.....remember the 70s band Beautiful Day, Shadow.......

  26. Shadow-
I couldn't agree more. I wonder how the hawk would manage if he knew the sands of time. I think his soar would scream of anxiety.
    love you~rick
