55 - my soul is bleeding

In these minutes past the hour
of the darkest time of the night,
my soul is weeping
for the dreams discarded,
carelessly flung into the flaming sunset
of a shattered reflection.
And my soul is bleeding
for the trust betrayed,
sullied by the kisses at New Year's turn,
from the one with the poisoned tongue.

every friday, compose a short story of 55 words - no more, no less. if you want to join in the fun and games and give it a try...post your story and report to the boss G-Man

I always try to slip a hand under the shirt to feel skin instead of scales before I deliver a precious kiss.

What a classy way to close out the year, as to have you play again.
Thank you for your friendship and support, and have a Kick Ass 2011.

Fiction, I hope. So beautifully captured. "dreams discarded, carelessly flung into the flaming sunset of a shattered reflection" Simply fantastic.

The lying devil. Dishonesty ruins the trust and that dissolves the relationship. The pain is so real in the writing. I am a testament to healing and life can be even better.

What worth would elixir be if you tasted no venom.
Venom's done and outlasted long. Now, ready your chalice, for a new wine, soft and strong.

Happy New Year.

Wow. That's one of those so-dark-and-beautiful-you-want-to-sing-it's-praises-but-are-too-busy-trying-to-close-your-mouth type of poems. Fabulous job Shadow.

Your poems always fill me with sadness...and my response to that, to you is not to turn away but to open:

Happy New Year Dear One! May the year to come be rich in blessings for you as you continue to grow in compassion...blending your humanness with your Divine essence...merging, flowing into the ONENESS that we all are.

Trusting the untrustworthy, what can be learned from this? With pain you produce beauty and we all benefit from your words. Peace will come.

Hi Shadow :-)

Happy New Year From Southern California.

Don't forget to watch the 122nd Rose Parade on New Year's Day coming from Pasadena, California...only 30 miles from The Old Geezer's home :-) If you miss the live telecast, I'm sure there will be lots of reruns through out the day.

No matter what looms ahead, if you can eat today, enjoy today, mix good cheer with friends today enjoy it and bless God for it. ~Henry Ward Beecher

May God Bless and Protect You in the Year to Come. ~Ron
