The Winter Solstice is upon us...

It’s fast, tears through my consciousness, alive with life and fire,

faster, a blur of colours, shapes, smells, the molten mass of disjointed realities,

faster still until suddenly, everything halts,
suspended, the fog lifts, the ends materialise,
awareness free from the drivel
collected at the wayside of my mind,

and tranquility sinks in,
the quiet I’ve been seeking,
the peace I’ve been craving,

the relief that was dire
to diffuse the implosion of my self
into the midnight ice of the winter solstice…

  1. A moment of stillness we need to grasp at least once a day.

  4. Stay away from implosions, especially of self. I the coldness puts down the fuse, then have at it. Personally I have been saved from implosion by living North and the opposite solstice.
