I know I’m an addict.

Know too, I know

there’s no substance capable of stilling

the restlessness alive inside me,

of silencing the voices,

always, always calling,

of relieving the tension in the spring

within my muscles and my nerves,

of freeing my physical body

the way only my mind can set me free.

Which? ......that's my choice to make.

narrow the ledge of bliss for lovers to dance

In the land of dreams

exists a time,

made from purest bliss

of both body and mind.

All too vividly you are shown,

the now, through the wonder of a child,

touched by an awakened consciousness

it exposes truths from lies,

subjugated to the deepest possession of your flesh,

thus ingrained in your being till the day you die.

Just a few ever get to have it all.

you like to be observed,

I crave the anonymity granted a stranger,

you thrive when your presence is acknowledged,

being a part of, escapes my desires,

you slide past strangers, turn them into names.

in the passing of a silent, cold night.

Its breath of icy clarity reveals a vista,

unravels before you as the rays of dawn,

smoothing creases in its singular able way,

lets the light warm your frozen bones.

How can I explain the compulsion, the drive,

the absolute must, to get out, bow out,

hand back, absolve myself of responsibility

and disappear into nothing, in no-where-land,

remove myself out of past, present and future,

from anything and everything that is,

from any evolvement hereon after,

become untraceable, a forgotten illusion,

and I pray, I too, may forget.
