I'm Losing You

Helpless, hopeless, I watch as you recede into the murky alleyway that separates you from me.
I see the flame that once burnt in your eyes with life and vitality, flicker and die.
Through the darkening fog that is drawing you in, you glance back one last time.
It's your cold, distant eyes that freezes my blood and fills me with emptiness, loss, and fear.

Please be strong enough to take control,
to turn from the false promises
of the enslaving voices that echo through you,
those that reduce you to a faithful servant,
colour bleak your world,
fill you with an obsession
that steals your every pleasure,
as your pain feeds the demons strength,
before it claims you as its own.
