dance the song of sorrow
when your spirit weeps,
feel the lilt of sadness
as through you it seeps.
dance until you feel
the air beneath your feet,
‘til the walls withdraw
and the tears retreat.
escape into the senses
of an enchanting trance,
forget the tears of sorrow,
just dance and dance and dance…
every friday, compose a short story of 55 words - no more, no less. if you want to join in the fun and games and give it a try...post your story and report to the boss G-Man!
Don't ever stop dancing :)
ReplyDeleteI applaud the optimistic turn. It works better, I think, that way.
ReplyDeleteHi Shadow,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my post about the whole 2012 thing. Your right "forget about it" is a very good idea! I will certainly try! It doesn't help us to live in fear for sure!
Thanks for turning sorrow into joy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and uplifting. I'm going to make this my mantra for the time being. Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly need to do this more! Thanks Shadow......
ReplyDeleteOh how I agree, Shadow.
ReplyDeleteDancing (mainly ballroom) has been my passion since 1951 ... yes, a long foxtrot in time, but so beautiful - as is your superb poem.
Yep there is that odd synchronicity of theme again. I like yours better shadow!
ReplyDeleteSome find beauty in sorrow. Maybe I do. It's a dangerous beauty.
ReplyDeleteTonight I am going to go dancing for sure after this. You gorgeous poetess!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent, uplifting last four lines!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I miss that feeling of dancing, dancing, dancing, until everything disappears! It's glorious, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're dancing now ...
ReplyDeletesmiles,
I admire how your words have always a sense of magick in them.
ReplyDeleteLoved it.
of course it's always best to be dancing with wolves ;) lol
ReplyDeleteDancing does seem to make everything OK for the moment I am doing it!
ReplyDeleteNothing like dancing to clear ones head and remove the sorrow. Thanks for the reminder. So fabulously done.
ReplyDeleteI've done two 55's this week. You can find them here. Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteI love this piece - as much as I love dancing. And I do.
ReplyDeletethis is so beautiful, i hope for everyone to feel this way, when feeling sad to feel it with your whole body, embrace the sadness, feel it and then let it go.
ReplyDeleteso much of my life was spent not feeling, afraid to be sad, happy or anything in between. today i feel my feelings like you describe in this lovely 55. great job.
I loved it.. if fit the mood for today perfectly, and I'm glad I read it today of all days. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel a "dancing queen" moment coming on...
ReplyDeletebut i love this lyric even more, fits very well with something I read over at another blog...
“there is a rhythm to this life and once I find the rhythm, I can dance my way through. ” ~ Shiny Things
gosh... even if i wanted to dance, i am not sure where i would do it! lol... sometimes i dance around the kitchen a bit when i am preparing dinner, but when my 'spirit weeps' my dancing needs to be for me... not the rest of my family.
ReplyDeleteAs I dance....the spirit beneath my feet strengthens me...the Holy Spirit lifts me as I dance.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this poem...it truly touched my heart.
Blessings, andrea

ReplyDeleteDancing free does leave the sadness behind doesn't it? If you put your whole being into it, dancing can transform you. It does me.
ReplyDeleteI love this, Shadow. I love the poem, I love the picture. It's just what I needed to see, in fact. :-)
ReplyDeleteI needed to comment again, and that is on the picture. B&W pictures make things more authentic for some reason!

Excelent sorrow, this one is happier than the last ones, it projects hopes trough the future, and since it is comming from you it makes me belive int it more.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture also.
Take care dear shadowy friend
I adore this sensational poem, the words entered my heart, which is already full of sadness. Everyday I dance, I fill my ears with delicious music to still my soul and although my legs do dance my heart is sad.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this poem it is so beautiful to me.
sincerely.
