Invisible thoughts,
fed by concealed visions,
dance through fields
of slowly dying embers,
as fleeting words
find their way home
and settle in your heart,
while others
disappear into an echo.

i dont know which says more about us the ones we keep or the ones we let fade...
ReplyDeleteThat's the problem with "fleeting words" - they often find their way to their mark and yet others disappear without a trace. But the ones remembered are usually the ones that leave a mark - and not in a good way.
ReplyDeleteYou are too seldom here - I miss you when you absent yourself from here - and from me.
Beautiful Shadow, I was so glad to see you back. I hope you enjoyed your summer. take care.
ReplyDeletethis leaves me wanting....
ReplyDeleteand wondering
xxx
...and they flicker somewhere
ReplyDeletedeep within that part of you
that can only hear
the whispers in your sleep...
a truly beutiful post.......vry well said coz some wrds only reaches while many odrs jst disappear......
ReplyDeleteyour words always have this soft sadness about them. When first read, the meanings do not fully sink in, just the images which pushes me to read them over again that was truly fascinating
ReplyDeleteA nice reflection. I've missed you Shadow!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is amazing!
ReplyDelete...as is your language.
I think of the mythology character "Echo", the doomed nymph of the forest, who chatted incessantly as young girls do. She was cursed by always having the last word, and only the last word, never being able to speak for herself, or speak first.
Wow amazing words!
ReplyDeletelovely post.
ReplyDeletemagnificent words, dear lady - and an absolutely perfect image for them - come on over to one of my campfires and warm your spirits when you have a chance and the inclination! have a glorious day!
ReplyDeleteFleeting words are the problem here. The one that leaves a stain is most remembered. Human tendency!
ReplyDeleteafter so long u have been here
ReplyDeleteloved to read u again :)
pic is beautiful
the words fleeting and the words persisting ;
how dey make us d persons we are bt the fleeting ones are may be sometimes d ones which could have saved us
So simple, yet so meaningful. You are amazing, Shadow.
ReplyDeleteAh I feel this i do.
ReplyDeleteI've missed You,
ReplyDeletewelcome back,
it's beautuful!

Hi Shadow, I like that you talk about words, some we keep and some we give away. The thoughts are our very own.
ReplyDeleteI'm always pulled into a metaphysical place when I read the brief but powerful pieces you write.
ReplyDeletefantastic, well written. great piece my friend
ReplyDeleteI've thought about this a lot lately as I've realized how many things I've forgotten while at the same time keeping hold so many items of minutia
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder how to best make sure I'm keeping hold of the best memories
part of being human is inhumanity?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Shadow!

Too many thought have been slipping out these days on this old mind. I am starting to write things down so I won't forget...
ReplyDeletebeautiful as always.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and thought-provoking. My mind is moving in many directions with this piece.
ReplyDeletePrefer those words I can catch, understand, and allow to rest in the womb of my heart.
ReplyDeleteBut i WILL go after those reflected words also, those echos to wherever they have spun, and bring them to my circle of love.
That's the way i wish to see this! And I thought SURELY i commented here days ago, but, well, Hmmmmm?
Love ya, V.

i think (know) I just love you! Been following from the start (of my time) and although, gaps fall, never an apology...
ReplyDeleteyet when you arise, you BRING it! and I just adore that...
I find it staying true to what is. and that is a comfort in and of itself.
beautiful words, as always. off to stalk you some more :)
I am jealous when someone can say so much and use so few words. It is a talent that I have not mastered.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
