The Echo

Catch me in your arms,
I am ready to fall,
to trust in your words,
to heed to your call.
I have reached the end here,
the end of this road,
catch me as I fall,
your voice now, an echo...

  1. Just let go the ledge, that spirit will catch you. You'll never hit the ground kiddo.

  5. to trust enough to heed the call and then to fall - to trust enough - so rare to find the way to that trust - beautiful, lady!

    interesting wv here - unity!

  6. Oh man, what a picture!

I love this short piece. Leaping or falling into unkown spaces seems to be a prerequisite for the most important new things to start in our lives.

  7. You will let go when you hear that whisper in your heart.
Then you will be off into another wonderful journey of contentment.

  16. With the picture you used for your work today, I'm not sure to say your writing is 'deep' or if it's fully trusting. I think it could go either way. Which intrigues me.

As you take the road to the end...and fall into the deep, you do hear echoes...but would it be trusting?

Golly, you really got me thinking on this one Shadow.

  21. Dear Shadow:
Most likely you do not agree with me, but I think so. As poetic style, this poem is most pure, perfect, balanced I've read about you. This does not mean I do not appreciate everything else, but the short phrase is one of the styles I appreciate most in a poem.
    With all my heart:
    Debrah

  22. I think of poets are fallen/falling souls...and much loved by many..else poetry wouldn't last this long or touch many hearts...

I too look forward to your poetry and would definitely want you to be here, Shadow :)

  25. It takes a long long time to trust doesn't it? An echo can be a good thing because you can hear "I love you" over and over.

  34. It takes a lot of trust, faith and hope to fall and know that you'll be caught. I believe that you will be though, Shadow. Release and let go.

  35. I always think of that little mythological nymph named Echo, who was cursed to only her her own voice when it was repeating the last word of someone else.

The reverberation of that empty space, that you spell out so well.

    Cheers!

  36. Forget echos, start making a melody of your own, and others may join in!

  37. It is so hard to trust another enough to fall and let them catch us..but a wondeful experience when it works..this poem said it perfectly.
