The candlelight glows
as in times very old,
forgotten the secrets
once alive, now untold,
I have passed through the darkness,
my mem’ries it veiled,
brought heartache and tears
as my soul I then failed,
I was brought to my knees
by sadness and tears,
but the lessons needed learning
to release all my fears.

My shadows now live
side by side with my light,
acknowledged and heard,
they no longer need fight,
my soul is at peace
as I now know my self,
the true open book
that is me, that’s my life.
