A Shift

 

……and all of a sudden
it's not so easy, or appealing,
to fall back into old patterns,
old ways, old rhythms,
even when clad
as the ‘perfect solution’
to dissolving the dis-ease before me,
as they would only appease
the situation concerned,
return the ‘peace’, the ‘balance’,
to a known state,

since I now know the cost,
to my self, my being,
of betraying my truth,
abandoning my being,
for a temporary resolve
I know, will not last……
