rain so fine it looks like a mist
touching the rooftops very tips
tires slicing through waters spray
cloaked huddled figures hurrying their way
out of the damp to warmth and lights
wrapping their hands around mocca delights
an eerily quiet neighbourhood
setting a soothing comforting mood
draws me to flickering orange and reds
snuggling close to a body sans threads
shadows dancing on wall a dance
enraptures the soul, the mind in a trance
wellbeing oozing out of my skin
in the arms of my love i’m wrapped within...

what a lovely peaceful day!
ReplyDeletethanks Shadow for casting your dance on the wall of my imagination.
Good morning Shadow,
ReplyDelete"close to a body sans threads" - I just love it. Poetry is such a feeling and thought precise language.
"damp to warmth and lights" - your turn of phrases so often reminds me of a few I have turned from time to time.
Everything you write I can picture in my mind Shadow - its so wonderful this thing you have!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you match your word to these pictures - that is a form of inspired art too.
ReplyDeleteWow that was very hot. i am going to read it to my love tonight!!
ReplyDeletehmmm....i've been those cloaked figures ... lol

rainy days and shadows thread their way nicely through your thoughts. Great Pic! ~Rick
ReplyDeleteShadow I cant even find a line in there I like best. All exquisite and a beautiful visual created.
ReplyDeleteThis poem is like an icee from the movie theater. I like it very much, and the photograph you chose complements it deliciously.
