Wasted promises

I’m shocked by the tears that are falling like rain
when I see what is really behind
the façade you’ve created, and had me believe,
to be you, the one whom I love.
And an icy hand grips my heart,
twists while a knife
shreds the years into wasted promises,
as I see my existence
shimmer like a mirage,
when the mind of a trickster erases my reality
and reveals the barren wasteland
of a life that is but a charade.

  2. Interesting poem. It could mean a lot of different things.

Poetry was never a medium I could see anything in. By that I mean, I could compose poetry. If I had a better vision into the medium, perhaps I could enjoy it more.

  3. I love how well this all mixed together...the title...the picture..that beautiful poem. They all stood out, but they went together so well. You're a very deep person Shadow. :)

  9. Learning someone's true nature is actually healthy in the long run and no life is really any waste, just a learning ground. I hope this is not what is going on in your real life because I know this is painful and full of emotion. You write so well it is difficult to know if it is fantasy or not.

  11. I've been there and after a while the memories are plastered across your subconscious like peeling wallpaper, and you dare to live again. Profound imagery dear friend. (Hugs)Indigo

  14. I don't like seeing behind the facade and finding just empty rooms. Nothing there. Very sad.

  15. hmm. Seems we both felt the need to post to our blogs today.
Wasted promises....that holds so much meaning with only two words. I'd like to think that our strong point is being able to envision that the mirage could truly be reality..if only the other would see that road as well.

    lotsa hugs to you.

  17. Don't you just fucking despise it when someone leads you like a dog into thinking they are one way and they know all the time they are another? I hate those fuckers.

  18. Shadow! I just want to quote back to you every word, one or two at a time, and say after each, "Yes! ....Yes! ...Yes"!

  19. then why don't you take a break from the monotony of false pretenses? Shatter a mirror, for example, or break that wine glass.

    Happy New Year,

    Regards,
