It’s time to confront the remains left by yesterday’s frivolity,
at the discarded waste of a ravaged feast.
Songs of cheer still hang, thick in the air,
shattered glass and broken bones, cut into your feet,
red with the wine of regret, broken promises,
indulgences lavishly gratified, without thought or limitation,
revealed, the trickery and deception, obliterating all delusion,
I can breathe in the light of a new dawn.

  3. The autumn leaves are falling like rain,
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups at my table

  5. One certainly looks to the dawn. I know I do and look for traces of red in it.

    Red in the morning,
    sailors take warning.
    Red at night,
    sailors delight.

  6. I remember not too long ago when a little known black man was elected president half the county celebrated and the other half went back to bed and cried. We are crying now but life goes on.
