seven minutes to midnight

It's seven minutes to midnight
and the moon reigns in full glory over scuttling clouds
leads dancing shadows across rooftops and lawns
flits through the dreams of the sleeping
leaves behind a seed of magic
stretching the impossible into possibilities
kindles the flame of lost childhood
the innocent faith in the fantastic
shaping, reminding, teasing, daring,
will you remember all this when you awaken?
Or will your wishes burn away with the rising sun…

  1. moon always cools dreams and sun always burns away dreams ... love, cat.

  2. A thing of beauty id joy forever, so I guess humans will remember the magical night!

  3. I love that abstract surreal element in your words..beautifully penned :)

  4. wishes hopes and dreams...they are all etched in my mind, endlessly.

A beautiful bit of prose today Ms. V.

Altho, I've been absent much of the time here of late, visiting with you, know your kindness and heartwarming words you leave for me are truly appreciated!! Thanks "V"!!!

  5. Greetings from the UK. I enjoyed reading.

Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.

  6. Moon was almost full yesterday as I left for work, but it was browned along one edge, almost as if it had been burned. Very inspiring.

  7. Loved. Especially, this:

"flits through the dreams of the sleeping
leaves behind a seed of magic"

  8. I remember most of my dreams, so yes I will remember these things when I awaken. Which begs the questions, when is one truly awaken?

  9. An excellent question. An excellent poem.
As you where describing, I was wondering. Then you came to the question. Aha...! Caught me.

  10. I have experienced to many bad moon risings for my comfort. May it be better for you and yours.
