I’ve lost my head, indulged my madness, cast aside every preconceived idea I know,

I have questioned, built things new, willfully walked where I knew it would storm,

I harbour secrets in my consciousness, spaces far too dark to enter,

I have conquered fears that slightly shook the ground beneath my feet,

I have led astray and guided, coerced, coaxed and denounced,

I’ve created, enriched, thrown away, destroyed and gathered,

I have seen and felt, I have hidden, ignored and pretended,

I have hurt, abused, manipulated, lied and cheated,

I have loved, trusted, believed, followed, worshiped, protected and sacrificed,

all this is woven into those around me, so I guess, say “Hello” to me.

My image is deflected by the rain running down the window,

tales of adventure and misfortune line my face,

legs tired from dances danced and diversions into dead-end roads,

eyes dull, there’s not much worthwhile left to see,

my step slows with the numbers winding down to zero,

my voice soft, often silent, I have said all I need to say.

love is the dream you dreamt when small

that smiles and grabs you in its thrall

surprising you with joy these senses new

that rings through nights a magical

impression deep you still recall

alive with love and lust it’s just you two

love is the call in the tears that fall

your heart in shreds that bleeds through all

an arrow pierces every piece of you

grinds through your mind to darkness call

a fire burns and leaves its toll

the pleasure turns to ashes right before you

love is heartless and unkind

rules by the senses and not the mind

but I need it as much as the air

for I seek the deepest burn

from the madness this I learn

there is bad and there’s good still out there.

The genie I battled and caught

made himself felt after many forgotten nights,

his unlit playground, the new moon past

he electrified every nerve, clamoured with alacrity

through my sense now keen,

a tremor strong enough forces me from my feet,

I sit.

And feel the vibrations your presence effects,

gaining ground every second I allow you free reign,

listen to your whispers speeding, speeding, speeding,

the scars you left last time burn in the icy wind blowing,

there's an ache deep within me, you’ve disturbed me,

but this time, this time you didn’t regain your freedom.

The Calling of the Moon

The witches were howling with the moon last night,

lamenting their sorrows, accepting their plight,

calling for compassion from the gods who her heart rules,

who lend love as the light in her eyes, where her tears pool.

The truth is all that matters, it’s the clarity of heart,

the intentions of your breath onto others you impart,

in the silence of the night, feel the pain in those around you,

free their power, feel it lift you, that’s the calling of this moon.
