over my mind a thick mist hangs
dulling all the senses
mirroring clouds hanging above
over invisible fences
thoughts move drowsily
through a veil
of silence
which i inhale
limbs in repose
emotions tame
tranquility
lays its claim
dulling all the senses
mirroring clouds hanging above
over invisible fences
thoughts move drowsily
through a veil
of silence
which i inhale
limbs in repose
emotions tame
tranquility
lays its claim
Tranquility is good. I'm there.

ReplyDeletethis is one of those that leaves me tranquil when i read it.
Beautiful image, words, and sounds...
ReplyDeleteThick mist, drowsy fog, yep. That sounds like me this morning. I think I'll choose to view it as tranquility rather than exhaustion. Seems so much nicer that way.
ReplyDeleteNice one Shadow.
Beautiful, silent, serenity...(Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteI love the traquility of sitting in the field with my dogs on a spring evening like last night watching the trains in the valley below, sooo serene.
ReplyDeleteYes after my mid life crisis at 40 I am getting back into blogging and feel better for it.
Your place made the news on UK TV about the election and all that, I would love to travel round africa, Louise (Miss Bickerdyke) who is in the next office said I really should get out and explore the world

ReplyDeleteGol-dang-it! Oddest thing. I mean the coincidence.
ReplyDeleteComing home from a meeting this morning I ran into thick veils of actual smoke, and I LOVE the smell! It is "fire season" here. And it was eerie as you describe in today's poem of peacefulness:
"...through a veil
of silence
which i inhale..."
Simply beautifully written, as (ahhhhhhh!) usual.
Love this, Shadow! especially "tranquility lays its claim." -
