The Waxing Madness of the Moon

Where does it come from, this need
to shatter in the most beautiful way possible,
to flow in the river of anticipation where expectations
never cease to surprise with deep fulfilment,
so maybe that is why I choose to chase the howling wolf
under full moon into the shadows to succumb
to whatever he elects to place in my hand.

  1. I love these lines:

"Where does it come from, this need
to shatter in the most beautiful way possible"

    "to succumb
to whatever he elects to place in my hand"

  2. This lifted up my psyche in the most physical of ways. Your gift is amazing!!!

  3. There is the allure of the mysterious and dangerous at the same ~ The animal is never far away from underneath ~

  4. Because maybe in that beautiful shattering
we can leave something people will surely remember.
Or maybe it is to feel like we truly lived
    even in that last breath.

  5. It's a primal desire to know the unknown.
    Beautiful words!

  6. I wonder why we have this need? Beautiful poem!

  7. hello shadow its dennis the vizsla dog hay dada sez at first he thawt the moon had eksploded but then he reealized it wuz just obskyoord by klowds!!! trust dada to go rite to the apokaliptik interpretayshun of enny pikcher!!! he also sed sumthing abowt sukkumbing to a howling wolf under the full moon reminding him of sum seen in sum dokyoomentry kalld the howling but i hav not seen it so i hav no ideea wot he is tawking abowt as yoozhual!!! ok bye

  8. Every piece you post becomes my new personal favorite. I love the image of you chasing the howling wolf! The juxtaposition of instinct versus civilization, with raw emotion as the undercurrent, is brilliant.

  9. We were made that way. We want to know everything, explain it and then think we control it. ;)

  10. Shadow you would never take anything anyone handed you just for the sake of taking it--you take from the wolf because you trust it.
